Asakura Takeshi Revives for Kamen Rider Brave Spin-Off

Takashi Hagino (Asakura Takeshi/Kamen Rider Ouja of Kamen Rider Ryuki) joined Toshiki Seto (Hiiro Kagami/Kamen Rider Brave of Kamen Rider Ex-Aid) and Director Nobuhiro Suzumura at Kamen Rider the Diner for a special event on Saturday, February 18, 2017.

The event was held before the screening of the spin-off Kamen Rider Brave: Survive! Resurrection Beast Rider Squad.

“Hagino, please get vexed again!”

This is the first original video delivered in the Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club app. The story is revolved around the battle between Kamen Rider Brave and Kamen Rider Ouja.

Seto said he has been a fan of the Kamen Rider series since he was a child. “Although I’m happy being in a starring role, I was thrilled and excited to be able to co-star with Kamen Rider Ouja.” During shooting, he seemed to take photos of Ouja’s transformations.

Suzumura said “I was watching with sparkling eyes, like I was a young boy. I heard a voice saying “Cool! Cool!”. When I cut, I turned back and saw Seto.” (laughs)

Meanwhile, Hagino said his appearance was decided over a meal with Suzumura. He said “Hagino, please get vexed again.” Suzumura said “Asakura Takeshi is a character that takes on a leading role, even in Ryuki. He appears older now, like a character from Hokuto no Ken appearing in Doraemon.”

Asakura is a character that attracts attention when he eats, such as eating lizards and raw eggs in Ryuki. In this work, he will eat a raw fish. Hagino said “This is the first time I’m writing in a script to eat a raw fish. It’s really something only for the core fans. It’s a gift from me and Suzumura.”

In Kamen Rider Ryuki, Jiro Okamoto performed as the suit actor. This time, it was not possible. Takawa Seiji, who was the suit actor for Agito and Ryuki acted as substitute. Veteran Takawa was unusually nervous on the scene. During a test scene, when the royal snake was turning his head, Takawa took off his mask and said “Hagino, this is embarrassing.” (laughs)

At the end of the session, Suzumura said “If you look closely, there are hidden stories. There’s a scene similar to Miho Kirishima/Kamen Rider Femme (Natsuki Katou).”

Seto also told fans to watch Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, airing Sunday, February 19, 2017. “I will be transforming for the first time in two weeks! It’s so cool. Thank you!”

Kamen Rider Brave: Survive! Resurrection Beast Rider Squad will be available on the Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club app on February 19, 2016. On the same day, the first 7 minutes will also be available on the official Youtube channel, which is only available in a few countries.
