Atsuhiro Inukai to Appear in NHK Natsuzora Morning Drama

Natsuzora tells the story of Natsu Okuhara, a young woman who lost her parents during World War II. She decides to enter the animation industry. The drama debuted on April 1, 2019 and will air until September 28, 2019.

It was recently announced that Atsuhiro Inukai (犬飼貴丈) would appear in the series as background artist Youhei Yamada, a young man blessed with the talent to paint. He is the eldest son in his family of poor farmers. Yamada does his best for his family, but also moved to Kyoto, earned a scholarship and studies at an art university. He introduces the heroine to various animated films while searching for his younger brother, Tenyo.

Tenyo Yamada is portrayed by Ryo Yoshizawa (吉沢亮), who previously portrayed Ryusei Sakuta/Kamen Rider Meteor in Kamen Rider Fourze.

Natsuzora is Inukai’s first appearance in a morning drama. Previously, he only had experience watching this type of drama. Inukai has had to get used to filming a morning drama. He recalled that in Kamen Rider Build, where he portrayed the protagonist, primarily shot with one camera, but on Natsuzora, there may be five or six cameras shooting a scene.

Inukai’s relatives are already offering him advice. On the show, his character, Yamada, wears a hat. They often talk to him about when he should wear it, or if it should be taken off when around his superiors.

Inukai also stated happiness over working with a former Kamen Rider actor, Yoshizawa. Fans on SNS are already expressing excitement over the “Rider Brothers.”
