On August 14, Fumika Baba’s entertainment office, Name Entertainment, announced that the actress has contracted COVID-19.
According to the report, she began to come down with one of the symptoms, a fever, on August 12. She recovered from the fever the next day, but her PCR and antigen test showed she was COVID-19 positive.
Presently, the actress is undergoing medical treatment and some follow-up at home with the guidance of medical professionals.
Another office staff member who was in contact with the actress also took a PCR test on August 13 but was negative for COVID-19.
The actress and her office apologized for the inconvenience and thanked fans for their continued support. The office also stated they will continue to monitor the physical individuals under the guidance of medical professionals. They also plan to make infection prevention a top priority.
