NJPW’s Hiroshi Tanahashi Debuts Kamen Rider Saber Themed Ring Gear

NJPW’s Hiroshi Tanahashi recently debuted his Kamen Rider Saber themed ring gear costume this weekend during Wrestle Kingdom 15. The wrestler previously teased last year that he was planning an outfit themed after the latest Rider, after showcasing his Kamen Rider Zero-One costume.

Masashi Taniguchi, who has appeared most recently as Bacht/Kamen Rider Falchion in Kamen Rider Saber: The Phoenix Swordsman and the Book of Ruin, also jokingly commented “Next is definitely Falchion!”

Tanahashi first debuted his Kamen Rider Zero-One Rising Hopper form-inspired ring design during Wrestle Kingdom 14 in January 2020, where he faced Chris Jericho. During the New Japan Cup 2020 event, Tanahashi unveiled his Zero-One Metal Cluster Hopper form gear.

Tanahashi has expressed his love for the series several times in interviews in the past and had a major role as Kamen Rider Heisei Generations: Dr. Pac-Man vs. Ex-Aid & Ghost with Legend Rider. Tanahashi’s signature, where he points upwards, is adopted from Kamen Rider Kabuto.
